Government of the Republic of Kosovo will continue to
support agriculture and will be committed to creating more favourable
conditions for the development of this economic branch, said today Minister of
Finance Mr. Beqaj during his visit at the Agricultural and Agroindustrial Fair,
Centre Fair in the village Bërnicë - Prishtina municipality where for many
years is organized by the Chamber of Commerce.
"We have made substantial reforms in terms of the environment
of doing business and this has been proven during the past years with the
significant improvement of ranking Kosovo in the World Bank Report of doing
business. In this regard, Kosovo was declared one of the 5 top reforming
countries in creating conditions for doing business and has increased its
rating for 40 countries, "said Finance Minister Besim Beqaj at the opening
of the fair of domestic products under the" Business Forum - Prizren 2014
The European Investment Bank (EIB) mission led by Matteo Rivellini is paying a visit to Kosovo. Minister Beqaj revealed the potential sectors for cooperation with the largest investment bank in Europe at the meeting with Mr. Rivellini. Minister Beqaj underscored the importance of finalizing the Pristina-Pec motorway, the railway line 10 as well as expressed willingness to cooperate with the EIB on other projects with regional impact in the energy and transport sectors.
Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Gerd Müller during the
meeting with the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kosovo, Besim Beqaj in
Berlin, noted that Germany as well as so far will continue to support Kosovo
and will encourage businesses to invest in the country stating that our
yesterday's summit was a clear signal of Germany's commitment to Kosovo and the
the course of the activity organized by the Federal Government of Germany for
the European perspective of the Western Balkans, the Conference on Western
Balkan Economies, with the topic "Trade, Investment and Regional
Cooperation for a new dynamic" also took place.
